    Heater/AC vent direction actuator

Not sure exactly what this is called but I am talking about the actuator arm that goes into the airbox down by your feet and directs the airflow. Mine was blowing mainly out of the vents only and won't change with the control. In my troubleshooting I found this pc was loose and on removing it, it appears broken. Has anyone replaced this? Does anyone have a diagram of the vent system for a 2006? Would like to have a better idea what I am looking at before I spend any money on parts or take anything else apart.

Not sure which piece you're talking about. There's a recirculation door actuator, a blend door actuator, and a mode door actuator. I have the manual on file (pdf), but I don't know how to post individual pages on here.

Moved to the Inside your LJ subforum. Never dealt with those doors myself and can't help.

Thanks! Here is a pic of the part that was loose. I am going to get a new one. I am hoping someone else has taken that apart and I can maybe just snap this in ( I know it is a long shot - nothing is ever that easy)....

    Re: Heater/AC vent direction actuator

Thanks for the info. On my 2005 LJ I get strong air flow through the floor vents and almost none through the dash vents (regardless of the setting I choose). Maybe I have a broken vent arm...

    Re: Heater/AC vent direction actuator

I never did get this fixed or find a diagram. Here in NC we run with no doors or windows on our jeep most of the time so it is not a priority. I did order a part but it does not look correct which is why I wanted a diagram. Haven't been any of my year jeeps at the scrap yard so I haven't had anything to compare to. Still want to fix it so please post as you troubleshoot and repair your issue in case someone else runs into something similar. I will do the same. Good Luck!
