    Body armor

Just installed this day after christmas. Like this rack over the smitty built and olympic becasue you don't have to drill into the body just goes under bumper. Great for surfboards and other beach gear like chair, coolers and whatever. I made a tent in the summer for it and my kids had a great time! Just added KC Daylighters to the front and rear for late night beach crawlsClick image for larger version.

    Bonac,
Do you get a lot of wind noise with this rack and basket?

Yeah, I get that the rack isn't armor, but this particular rack is made by Body Armor, right? I'm looking for a rack to carry a couple Kayaks but am worried that it will make a bunch of noise. I don't plan on having the hard top on unless I go to the snow or desert and it's 100+

If the hardtop is off, can you not just tie the Kayaks to the roll cage with proper support between the kayaks and cage?

That is what I have been doing, but because of the speaker bar you can't get a direct wrap of the strap. Also, I don't really like sitting the kayak on top of the windshield. You really need a cross bar to fit two kayaks and have them secure.

Like the roof rack. Would like to see more details on the tent you made for the roof, such as materials used, dimensions, etc. Also, I am working near NYC and wanted to ride on the beaches anywhere within 2-3 hrs from there. Also, I have mud tires, will they allow me on the beaches? Thanks for any info.
