    Moved rear seat...

My 16yr old is almost 6'6" tall! I had to move the seat back 3" just so he can fit!

Interesting, what all was involved to make that work? Assume it was relocating the mounting bracket?

Just re-drilled the seat brackets and used original holes in floor. Gained more room than I thought it was going to.

    Re: Moved rear seat...

I did this on the sublime LJ with the halftop and bulkhead. Wasn't really practical for the an adult to sit back there with the bulkhead in place but we did it mainly to allow room to mount the kiddo's seat into the back seat. If anyone does this I would definitely redrill the bracket and NOT redrill holes into the tub. The existing holes in the tub are at least reinforced on the underside of the tub and provide at least a little more support for the bracket in the event of an accident.

That is a pretty good thought about the bracket. I might need to do this one day.

Where can I find the bracket that moves it back?

you can just re use the existing floor bracket that you have, no new ones needed. This probably deserves some step by step pictures and maybe I will have time to do this and take some pictures.

    But, basically, you would

    a. remove the seat from the floor brackets - no tools needed for this
    b. look at the floor seat bracket and use a grease pen to mark the existing holes that are used for the floor and mark the direction the bracket is facing in the jeep
    c. remove the floor seat brackets from the floor - torx T?? needed
    d. measure and mark another set of holes on the floor brackets that would be further forward on the bracket which when mounted would move the brackets in the tub further backwards
    e. drill the holes in the brackets
    f. remount the brackets into the same existing holes of the tub but using the new holes in the brackets.

I suppose you could make some additional riser brackets and bolt the factory floor brackets to those as well but a bit of more work.

your center seat belt hole and the shoulder mounts are going to be slightly off now though.

    Re: Moved rear seat...

I have put mine on sliders.

So now I can bring it to no room for feet, when the dog only is riding the back seat and my drawer with fridge set up is back there, and with more room when I have people and no drawer in the back.
