Favorite low $$$ electrical mods

One of my favorite things is cheap little mods that make life better or make something the way that the Jeep should have come from the factory. Something like a switch in the door open switch circuit to kill the dome lights when doors off.

What have y'all done?

Haven't done it yet, but I like the locker override jumper mod for the Rubicons.

I just pull the fuse. Dome light still works when started or turned on with dome light switch.

This one replaces the relay with a jumper but it's on an older TJ

My relay was under the hood. I pulled it out and put in the jumper (pins 3 & 4). Works great.
I don't have the factory fog lights, and I'm not sure what the wattage of the replacements are. Might need to add a relay with a dedicated power source and heavier wire to the lights. Still cool using the factory switch and dash indicator.

Here's my dual switch locker bypass setup. Being under the 4wd lever keeps it out of sight, out of mind to passengers and other drivers
I actually used it the other day to lock in the rear axle while in 2 hi. No doughnuts, just backing out of a ditch at an odd angle.




I had to replace the switches, so I went with my favorite push buttons.

I added a switch in the rear to activate the interior lights. I thought about using a door switch on the tailgate, but figured when the top is off I wouldn't need to open the tailgate. Any switch would work but I found one that I really liked. It's small, water resistant, and could be mounted flat or through a hole.

I ended up mounting mine on the seat belt cover, but it also fits nicely under the edge of the body with double-sided tape. I like that it doesn't look like a switch so nobody messes with it when the top is off.
I ran a wire along the harness inside the body up to the front and tapped into the door ajar switch (purple wire). The switch then provides a ground signal that turns on the interior lights.
